The Neisse Film Festival has taken place every year since 2004 in the tri-border region, showing German, Polish, Czech and other Eastern European films with the goal of bringing the inhabitants of the border region closer together through the medium of film. In 2019 over 7,500 people watched 120 different films in 12 different locations across the three countries Germany, Poland and Czechia.

The films compete in different categories for a prize. Winners are awarded with a trophy in the shape of a fish, which symbolizes how the fish can move freely through the border river, without barriers.

This year the festival will take place from September 24th to 27th. Locations for the film viewings include Großhennersdorf, Zittau, Liberec, Varnsdorf, and Bautzen. Several films will be shown in Camillo Kino Görlitz (located at Handwerk 13).
